It was such a joy to capture images of this family when they welcomed their newest addition—a baby sister. The open space in the backyard and the beautiful vine covered fence provided great backdrops for this at home session. The perfect combination of light and shade.
While the little one was settling into her new surroundings I was able to hang out with her big brothers. I love getting candid images of kids just playing in their homes—whether its racing cars, building towers, or just having a chat.
At newborn shoots I like to capture all the little details of the baby (hands, feet, nose, ears) but I also love to do this for all children. I think their little hands tell an important story about how much they have learnt in those early years. Progressing from swatting at things, to grasping and manipulating them. I often think of the internal high fives I give myself when my toddler manoeuvres something with success, such as an open three litre container of milk 😰. They really do grow so quickly.
